The Virginia Pharmacy Technician exam is a 50-item, one hour exam administered by computer in SMT's Iso-Quality Testing (IQT) network test centers throughout the United States. There are currently eight IQT Test Centers in Virginia:

• Washington, DC area (Falls Church, Herndon, Chantilly, Ashburn)
• Richmond
• Norfolk
• Roanoke
• Abingdon

To make a test reservation at an IQT Test Center, go to the IQT registration and reservation page. Select Exam Registration from the menu, then select VA Pharmacy Technician as the Organization (VA Pharmacy Technician will automatically load as the Exam). Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to register, after which you can make a reservation to take the Virginia Pharmacy Technician exam at an IQT Test Center.

A. Any person wishing to apply for registration as a pharmacy technician in Virginia shall submit the application fee and an application (Word® doc*) on a form approved by the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.

B. In order to be registered as a pharmacy techician an applicant shall provide evidence of the following:
• Satisfactory completion of an approved training program, and
• A passing score on the Virginia Pharmacy Technician exam
