SMT Test Center Network grows

The SMT Test Center Network is open and active in both Canada and the United States using SMT’s innovative new test driver at CompUSA, Polar Bear Training, New Horizons, and college testing facilities. Because we are constantly expanding the network, there will be more by the time you read this, but as of early July 2005, there are now 200 SMT testing locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

All SMT Test Centers must meet rigorous standards related to environment, accessibility (ADA), technology, connectivity, and personnel training to ensure a common testing experience for all candidates. In addition, centers must offer ample parking and bathroom facilities.

SMT’s goal is to offer testing centers in major metropolitan areas through CompUSA, New Horizons, and Polar Bear, as well as less populated areas through college testing facilities. The latest additions to the Network include Puebo (CO), Durango (CO), East Lansing (MI), Murfreesboro (TN), Oshkosh (WI), and Thunder Bay (ON).

The SMT test driver accommodates a variety of item types and includes features designed to make testing simple for candidates with limited computer experience. The driver can also deliver adaptive exams using testlets.
